Definition of Dedicated Servers

When we speak of hosting servers, there are 3 principal categories - hosting servers, VPS (virtual hosting servers) and dedicated servers. Shared web hosting servers host many customers and so the resources per hosting account are limited, VPS offer more server configuration independence, but also affect other VPS web servers on the hardware node if used unwisely, and dedicated servers give you the opportunity to perform everything you prefer without meddling with anyone else.

Why would you require a dedicated servers?

Dedicated servers are normally much more expensive than shared servers or VPS web hosting servers. Why would anyone, then, use them? The reply is pretty simple. If your corporation has a high resource-swallowing site, or just has very explicit server setup requirements, the proper choice would be a dedicated servers. For somebody who is inclined to invest in security and reliability, the bigger price is of no concern. You are given root access and can use 100 percent of the dedicated server's resources without anyone else using these resources and intervening with your sites.

Hardware specifications

The majority of web hosting service providers, including us at NTYT PERU S.A.C, provide several different hardware architectures you can select from depending on your necessities. The hardware configurations offer different varieties of processors, a different number of cores, different RAM memory and server hard disk sizes and different monthly bandwidth quotas. You can select a web hosting CP, which is a handy software tool if you want to utilize the dedicated servers for hosting purposes solely and prefer not to use SSH for all the modifications you will be making. We offer three types of Control Panel software - Hepsia, DirectAdmin and cPanel.

The Control Panel of your choice

If you are a self-confident Linux OS user (our web hosting servers are powered by Linux or other Unix-based OSs), you could manage your dedicated servers through a Secure Shell console only. That, though, could be inconvenient, particularly if you wish to grant access to someone else who has less technical knowledge than yourself. This is why having hosting Control Panel software pre-activated is an excellent idea. The Hepsia web hosting CP user interface that we provide does not include root access and is chiefly appropriate for someone who has lots of web pages that absorb lots of system resources, but would like to manage the websites, databases and electronic mail addresses via an intuitive hosting Control Panel. The DirectAdmin and cPanel hosting CPs, on the other hand, give you full root privileges and include three access levels - root, reseller and user. If you intend to resell hosting accounts rather than using the dedicated servers solely for yourself, you should select one of these two.

Web server monitoring and backup procedures

Last but not least, there is the matter of monitoring the dedicated servers and of backing it up. In the event of a problem with your server, like an unresponsive Apache or a network downtime, it is advisable to have some kind of monitoring platform enabled. Here at NTYT PERU S.A.C the system administrators monitor all dedicated servers for ping timeouts, and, if you have a Managed Services package, they monitor the separate services on the dedicated servers as well. Backups are also an additional feature - the hosting distributor offers you data backups on our own backup web servers. You could pick a kind of RAID that would permit you to keep the same data on two hard disk drives as a protective measure in the event of a server hard disk failure, or in case someone whom you have given full server root privileges erases something by accident.
